April 2023 Check In

April 2023 has come and gone.  Weather-wise it was a beautiful month.  We had some rain, but not too much and we've had beautiful sunny, breezy days with temperatures in the 60s, which is perfect for me!

I really love this time of year when the temperature is mild, the days are sunny, the flowers and trees are blooming and everything is turning so green.

As a result, I took 2 day trips this month, one day through the Georgia counties of Forsyth, Dawson and Lumpkin and another trip through the Georgia counties of Gwinnett, Barrow, Jackson and Banks.

I just can't explain how much I love taking these little trips and riding through the back roads.  It just reminds me of the God's beauty.  Each of these trips have a little motive - to see the county seat's courthouse, but I do enjoy walking around the squares and driving around the towns and seeing a little more.  I know I don't get to see EVERYTHING I would like but I do like to get home before dark so therefore I need to mindful of how much time I spend in each town.

But that is a post (or multiple posts) for another day.

So...how did April go?

Three months of 2023 have already passed us by...my goodness!! So, time for a check in.

The main thing happening in the news is about Donald Trump's indictment. I won't really go into that though since I like to keep my blog a happy place and political talk never makes me happy.

I've been super busy at work...I had planned to retire at the end of March, but decided to push it back until the end of July.  That will be here before you know it though.  In ways I don't feel ready but in ways I am way past ready.  Either way, I know God has me in His hands and everything will all work out okay.

So let's check in on things.

Bible/Prayer Time:I've slacked a lot in my daily Bible reading - I want to get back on track, but since I've fallen behind, I feel it is hard to catch up.  I think I will just pick up where I am "supposed" to be and start from there.  I mean there is nothing that says I have to read the Bible in a particular sequence. Praying time, on the other hand, boy, there has been a lot to pray about this month...mostly for friend's and co-worker's family members, so many people dealing with a lot of health issues.

Crafty Time: Okay - I did crochet a little but often when I sit down to get started, here comes one of my kitty cats wanting to sit on me and receive love and attention.  Well..I have my whole life to crochet, but time with my kitty cats is limited and I believe you should give living beings attention more than non-living things, so I put my crochet aside.  I did paint a new door hanger for my sister, even though she didn't ask for it.  I think she liked it but I hope she doesn't feel obligated to use it if she doesn't want to.

Healthy Time: Uh...just okay.  I haven't been eating very balanced meals.  I haven't been eating bad, just haven't been getting in enough fruits and veggies.  My main exercise has been walking around towns in north and north-east Georgia.

Project Time:I took a step to order something I need for my next project.  I ordered it on April 6th and it was to be delivered on April 24th and as of today, the status says "processing".  I'm beginning to doubt it will ever be shipped so I may end up canceling but I really want those things so I can do my next home project.

This month I only read 2 books but they were both rather long books, one was 360 pages and the other was 464 pages.  I'm not sure which one I want to review this month since they were both really good books - maybe I will do a brief review on both?
