Rebecca's Crochet Coat - This is Us

When you are a person that crochets and knits, you always and I mean ALWAYS notice the lovely crochet and knit items in movies and TV shows.

This week, while watching "This Is Us" - I noticed the character of Rebecca's beautiful crochet coat (complete with a hood).  I love it!!  Since then, I've been trying to find a pattern for it.  I found some with traditional granny squares but this one is different, I think it is a Starburst Granny Square.  I can find a pattern for that but it is just the square - I want a pattern for the whole thing (complete with hood).  If I find it, I am totally going to make this.

I actually think it is similar to THIS PATTERN but only uses the Starburst Granny Square and not the others - hmmm

UPDATE:  I found this information - maybe it will help.

Project 365 - 2020 - Week 7

Each year, the Project Life app typically comes out with a new Project 52 kit.  This year, they didn't.  I'm not really sure what is going on with Becky Higgins related to Project Life but I know that in the Fall of last year, she closed her office and they started working out of their homes.  Perhaps they are having financial issues since making the app free (although there are plenty of in app purchases).

In addition, all production for physical Project Life products has ceased and she stated she will no longer make physical products (albums, sheet protectors, kits, etc) - I understand it in a way about the kits since the app is so popular now but albums and sheet protectors are still needed.

Instead she seems to be focusing on making wrapping paper and notebooks - excellent quality, as always but no offense to Becky, I can get notebooks and wrapping paper anywhere - it may not be as good as quality as her products but for the price, I am willing to let it go - especially since wrapping paper just eventually ends up in the trash anyway.

But...back to Project Life - since there are no plans for any more kits, I decided to use the Bloom Edition this year and I really like it - a lot!  I'm kind of glad there isn't a new Project 52 this year because it forced me to take a look at what is already available (and trust me, there are a TON of kits) so I agree with Becky that there really isn't a need for new kits at this time.

I got one of my wishes concerning the app - in the past you could only work on one devise, then you had to download and send it to the other devise as an email or in dropbox and it was a pain.  Now, you can start your project on one devise and finish on the other - that is awesome!  Sometimes I am sitting waiting on my car to be serviced and I can start a layout on my phone, then when I get home, finish it up on my iPad (which I can see better).  I love this feature and have been wanting it for a long time so I am glad it was added.

The only other feature I would like that would make the app 100% perfect to me, is a search function.  For instance, if I want to use a card that has eyeglasses on it, I could do a search for eyeglasses and all the kits/cards with eyeglasses would show up so I could pick one.

Becky has said some new things (not kits but other things) are coming so I am hoping and hoping that it will be a search feature - finally!  I guess time will tell.

Project 365 - 2020 - Weeks 5 & 6

I didn't post last week's layouts because I was sick.  I have been sick pretty much all last week but I am feeling better today.  Therefore, I am posting post weeks 4 & 5 this week
