It was an interesting month…I saw Billy Pilgrim again, I had a great trip to the Outer Banks, and uh…oh yea, I had a mini-stroke & a bunch of medical tests.

February 2023 Check-In

 

It feels like February just flew by. But, it is a shorter month after all.

So...currently in the news...the Alex Murdaugh double murder trial.  What are your thoughts?  Personally, I felt justice was done.  The thing that sealed it for me was when he was saying that he was never at the dog kennels, where his wife and son were murdered, but video evidence showed he was there minutes before the murders and he then admitted that was his voice on the video.  If he was there minutes before the murders and he claimed he didn't commit them, then he would have SEEN the murderer. He claimed that he saw no one, there is only one explanation, he is the murderer. 

How can someone kill his wife and son in cold blood like that?  Of course he was doing it for the money, apparently.  After hearing his testimony, I wonder if the guy ever told a truth in his life?  Seems like every word he has ever spoken has been a lie.  

I do feel a bit for his remaining son. He has lost his entire family in the span of a year. I don't know his source of income, but assume he was being supported by his dad (by his dad's stolen money).  He has lost everything and pretty much everyone in his life.  

Well...on to better subjects.  So...how's my year going?

Bible/Prayer Time: Good - I am 2 days behind in my daily reading, but will get caught up today. Praying faithfully each day for those I know are in need of prayer.

Crafty Time: OK - I am keeping up with Project Life and also working on a special Project Life album called "52 Weeks of Me".  My daily Project Life is current but the 52 Weeks of me is a couple of weeks behind because I'm kind of stuck on what to include on one of the weeks.

Healthy Time: I'll let you know next month.  I'm doing well with eating, but still need to add exercise.  I've been having some bad muscle aches, especially in my arms and shoulders...not sure what is going on there and if you pray, I could use some prayers about that.

Project Time: Not sure if this is considered a project but I made a genealogy link between me and my BFF.  It turns out we are 6th cousins.  I'll post more about that on another day.

This month I completed 3 books, saw BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, Kevn Kinney and the Amy Ray Band.  I finished watching (or I guess you can say re-watching) "Drop Dead Diva" - I remembered it didn't end the way I really wanted it to end.  I am sure it ended the way most people wanted it to, but it isn't what I wanted.  I don't want to say how I wanted it to end so I don't spoil it for anyone that hasn't seen the series.  The new show "Alert" ended and it was good, lots of twist and turns, but rumor is it won't be renewed for Season 2.  

Grey's Anatomy, Young Sheldon and Ghost are all back, as is La Brea.  I also heard La Brea may not be back next season.  That is too bad, it is a good show.

My immediate family and my kitty cats all seem good and healthy - thank you God!  We started a new semi-monthly program at church, called "The Avenue".  We've only met once so far but it seems like something I will enjoy.

Donny Osmond - Yesterday vs Today

I love Donny's updates of his older songs.  The Twelth of Never, always makes me melt.

Love seeing the Osmonds at such a young age.

When they are singing "I want a girl...just like the girl...that married dear old dad" - Donny is doing a comical sketch and I remember that Jay used to do this (before Donny joined in) - it is kind of funny to me to see Donny doing it, when I associate it with Jay, but I suppose since he was the youngest one performing at the time, it makes sense.

The Osmonds are amazingly talented and often don't get the credit they deserve.  I mean really!! Here they are performing a range of songs, from barbershop to pop, dancing, doing comedy and playing instruments - and speaking Swedish!  That is pretty amazing for anyone - let alone a bunch of kids!

Adam Ant - Anthems Tour

So...back in March, I had to have surgery to remove a tumor from one of my parathyroid glands...as I was laying in the pre-op room, I was browsing my phone and saw that Adam Ant tickets were going on sale the following day (while I would be in the hospital recuperating).  Thank goodness for my wonderful sister, who KNOWS how much I love him....

She said, don't worry, I will take care of it and get us VIP tickets and she did.  So I have been waiting for months and months for September 23rd to get here and finally...it did!!

We were in the recently renovated Variety Playhouse - they did a fabulous job renovating this place.  They raised the stage so if you sit, you can see over the mosh pit.  I am short so I don't like standing in the pit because I can't see but we were on the 2nd row and our seats were FANTASTIC!

We were allowed to go in early (since we had VIP tickets).  He sang lots of old songs - all old songs - off his first 4 albums.  I was in pure heaven the entire time.

An amazing show - we danced the entire time and I loved that it was so up close and intimate.  He was interactive with the audience and looked and sounded amazing!!

Ed Sheeran Concert

I last saw Ed Sheeran in concert in September 2015, when I took my friend and Godson to see him (my Godson's first concert!) - I have liked Ed Sheeran since I first heard A-Team back in 2012 

So I was already a fan before seeing him a couple of years ago in concert.  But after seeing him, I was even more a impressed and I LOVE his latest CD, Divide.

So I jumped to go see him when he came back to Atlanta on August 25th (another show was added August 26th)

I didn't know who was opening for him.  The last time, it was Christina Perri (loved her!!)

This time I had a nice surprise - James Blunt opened!  He mostly sang song from his new CD but he ended, as he put it, with the song you know..."You're Beautiful".  He was great!!  He even took time to meet and greet fans, take photos and sign autographs.  Very cool!

 

Then Ed Sheeran came onto stage - with no band, just a man, a guitar and a peddle.  Oh my gosh - he was incredible!!

He sang everything I wanted to - a lot from Divide (my favorite CD so far)

I don't think he realized it but every time he took a sip of water (which he did after every song), his young female fans would scream.  He said it was the loudest show so far on the tour (he said he wasn't just saying that - it REALLY was).
